With HIMSS16 (and the glaring lights of Las Vegas) now in the rearview mirror, we would like to reflect on the biggest trends and takeaways from this year’s event.

Our clients, Scottsdale Health Partners and Cal INDEX, delivered presentations that touched on two of this year’s major themes: interoperability and population health’s evolution into precision medicine.

We were thrilled to not only see audience participation at these sessions, but also to engage in so many thought-provoking conversations about these trends at our booth.

We were pleased to see a huge influx of requests for demos of our solutions, and found that many attendees were eager to learn more about what Orion Health has in store on the precision medicine front.

Our messaging around precision medicine was a proven standout. We were also encouraged by the healthcare trade media and other industry influencers’ levels of engagement with our executives and clients during vibrant in-booth conversations around these topics.

For us, showcasing our Amadeus platform and Rhapsody Integration engine were major highlights, as we were able to demonstrate how practical-innovative applications of technology can drastically improve the patient experience and care outcomes.

Major news broke at the show when Karen DeSalvo of ONC announced the launch of a major government challenge to improve interoperability across health IT. The challenge, meant to “stimulate the market,” was the buzz of the show, and dominated most of the conversations about big data, interoperability, and population health management.

HIMSS16 was a huge success for Orion Health, especially as it gave our thought leaders a chance to talk about industry trends, the impact of our technologies on providers and payers, mingle and mix with the media, analysts and connect with clients, prospects, and partners. We are enthusiastically awaiting preparations for HIMSS17!
